Happy New Year

We are still away at the Hunt cabin in Idaho some of us are enjoying the freezing weather and snow a little more than others.
Hope everyone has a good New Year!

the nativity

I told Logan to find baby Jesus and put him back in the nativity in his room. Maybe we need to spend less time at Disneyland

Christmas

Christmas came early this year. Santa decided that since we are flying to Idaho this week it probably wouldn't be a good idea to have to carry Logan and Nixon's presents back and forth. So today was Christmas. I love having children to celebrate Christmas with, it makes it so much fun. Logan played with his new train table and buzz and woody dolls all day. He refused to nap. All the excitement of Christmas caught up with him and he crashed around 5.
I've already begun taking down Christmas decorations. I want to have a clean house to come home to.

Somehow she did it

After about a month of trying to convince Kyle that we needed to get pictures taken for our Christmas card I gave up. But, I needed to get 9 month pictures of Nixon so I took the boys to Sarah Hull and she was able to get both Nixon's pictures done as well as some of the Logan and the two of them for cards. Amazing she was able to get great pictures with what she had to work with.

Nixon fell asleep on the way over, so he was one sleepy baby. My terrible two, gave her the cold shoulder and the evil eye, until he warmed up and became his crazy exploring self. Throwing rocks, climbing on fences above the water, tearing apart gates, etc. I love that she caught him in this jump. He loves looking at it too. Helping his brother up......oh no, just look at that little grin on his face, he's knocking him over.
Exploring? Nope he just pushed his brother off a rock
Breaking his finger? Actually he was trying to kiss his hand
But Nixon had enough
Sarah got some great pictures of the boys which I will share later after I figure out what I'm doing as far as Christmas......eh maybe new years cards.
Thanks Sarah I love them!

santa

Neither one of them enjoyed meeting santa. However, Logan asks to see this picture every day, numerous times.
I'm 100% sure that one of my boys deserves finding coal in his stocking on Christmas morning. Only he would enjoy throwing it at people too much, so I'm sure santa won't give him the pleasure.

Buzz

Logan simply adores Buzz and Woody. He talks about them daily. He shakes with excitement when he sees Buzz right before we get on the ride. He is serious about fighting the bad guy. He loves making gun sounds.

thanksgiving weekend

My brother and sister in law came to visit over thanksgiving. We went to the tidepools in laguna while they were here.

Nixon

Nixon loves to blink. If you blink at him he will do it back. I love to squeeze, kiss, maybe nibble on that cute face of his. He is the sweetest.

"I'm hiding"

Logan yells,"I'm hiding" several times throughout the day. He's always in the same spot. Isn't it cute?

california cousin

Yeah!! My older brother and his wife welcomed their first baby into this world last night at 11:35. Logan and Nixon are proud to say that they have a cousin in California, although they haven't met him yet, because Kaiser is strict and wouldn't let my darlings into the room. It may just be that Liam has angels watching out for him protecting him from Logan.

Shane Liam Holloway (they are going to call him Liam)
6 lbs 13 oz, 20.5 inch (he's just a little guy)
He has the darkest hair and lots of it
I'm pretty sure I will be his favorite aunt, but the poor little guy doesn't know what's in store for him with his cousin Logan. He'll have to be one tough kiddo!

Bye Bye Books

I'm cleaning out my garage. I've been throwing away a ton of stuff and I finally decided to part ways with all of my college nursing books. Tons of money, time, and tears went into these books. I'm saving a few of my favorite and most expensive ones (one of them cost me over $300, how rediculous is that?). Anyone know where I can take them?

No extra hour of sleep here

Gone are the days that Kyle and I get an extra hour of sleep with the fall time schedule change. These kids haven't changed their internal clocks yet so we are getting up bright and early with them. They are pretty grouchy with their schedules being off.
My faithful thumbsucker has had it with today, and has decided to sleep away most of the morning. His bottom teeth are breaking through so he is pretty angry.
Oh my dear Logan, such an angel when he is sleeping! Another story when he wakes up.

Halloween

Logan was throwing fits to put on his costume, but once a few lollipops made it into his bag he was pretty happy.
A quarterback and his football.
We just trick or treated around 2nd street.

Nixon gummed this sucker (in the wrapper) to smithereens
We met up for dinner with some friends. Logan loves Harrison (or "Harris" as Logan calls him). They play lots of crazy boy games. And while Logan is usually a bully to most, he is pretty nice to Emrys, although I did notice him starting to poke her eyes the other night. Can you blame him they are so pretty and big.

Lots of Dland

Some of Kyle's family came down for a Disneyland trip. We spent two full days there with them. I think I have had my fill of Disneyland for awhile!!

Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures.

Nixon loved having cousins in the backseat to entertain him. I love this chunky face. Logan LOVES his cousin Ryan. Poor Ryan took some beatings from my little boxer. Logan is lucky to have cousins who love him even if he is rough.
Oh so squinty, I wonder if he saw that we were riding in elephants.
What boy doesn't love bugs?
I let Logan take a 2 hr nap in the stroller while Nixon climbed around the candy corn garden. This kid always has his tongue out of his mouth. I think the doctor loosened it a little too much.

Mess

I was cooking dinner tonight and asked Logan to give Nixon a few cheerios. He poured the whole box out onto Nixon's tray and all over the floor. Nixon was in cheerios heaven. Logan just said, "mess." Thanks Logi.

Warning: to any of my inlaws coming to visit in a few days, beware of the mess that is my home. I can't seem to clean fast enough to compensate for the mess that these Hunt boys create (father included).

Fall=Flu

I love fall minus the fact that it starts flu season. Nixon had his 8 month checkup and received his flu shot along with a couple others. My sweet little boy is growing up quickly (actually he only gained a 1/2 inch in length). He has been climbing up on everything for about the pass month. Luckily, Logan is around to knock him down. I guess Logan knows I'm not ready for Nixon to grow up yet. I have a feeling I will be chasing around 2 active boys soon.

Nixon still sleeps in my bedroom in the pack n play. This is my view from the bed at 6:30 in the morning. It may be time to move him out of the room. Nixon really is just the sweetest boy. Although, the other day he was laughing and I heard a hint of an evil laugh, that I'm sure he picked up from his older brother. It scared me.
Logan was at school while I was at the doctors, so he missed his chance to get his flu shot. I asked the pediatrician if I could just have a vial of that nasty flu virus to give him myself.....and she let me. Just another reason I love Dr. Chang. Logan didn't like me for a second after the shot, but he's forgotten about it now.

My boys are building antibodies to the flu virus as I speak.

A new annual passholder

Kyle went kicking and screaming, but I think he enjoyed watching the kids see the magic that is Disney. And since Logan can be very convincing, Kyle purchased an annual pass to Disneyland. I couldn't be happier, I see many fun family nights at the park ahead of us. Logan saw Disneyland from up high, since he got to be held through all the lines.

As for Nixon, he stayed strapped to his mom, just like he always is.

Happy birthday dear Kyle

I won't tell you how old he is today, but lets just say he's been around for awhile.

Don't you feel like you were just looking at pictures of Nixon......I do!
I will be really weirded out if Nixon's hair turns this color.
We are having a fun party tonight at Disneyland tonight, just the 4 of us!!!

Trisha time

I was feeling a little frumpy so I went to Megan for a hair makeover.
Sorry the picture isn't that great......I waited until the end of the day to take it, but megan did a great job and I love it!
Logan got a haircut too, only his dad messed up so it resulted in a buzz.

Today

Logan started a little "joy school" today. My cousin and a friend both have 2 yr olds so we are taking turns teaching the kids for 2 hours one day a week. Even though it was just with my cousin, I was nervous to leave Logan (remember he's rarely away from me), in fact I bit off one of my nails on the ride over. Turned out to be a nice 2 hours to get some housecleaning done.

Today was all about getting acquainted with each other and the letter A. I probably should have taken a picture before school started when Logan was still shy, this is the best I could get.
My cousin gave me a few of these teething bars for Nixon from Whole foods today. He LOVES them.
Next time it will be a shirtless activity
He started getting a little fussy, so I took the bar away and started cleaning him up....he was angry
So I gave it back, but he stayed mad at me for awhile.
School is at my house next week. My topic is, "the joy of the body" and the letter B. Time to pull out my Anatomy books!

We're back

To Disneyland that is! I just renewed my pass last week, so weekly Disneyland excursions will be part of our schedule now.

I love taking the kids to Disneyland.......but anyone feeling a GNO soon?
