fun(ny) new game

for some reason we (trisha and i) thought it would be a learning experience for logan to learn to describe the animals that he loves to play with every day instead of just throwing them at his brother or packing them in his backpack. so yesterday i grabbed one of his animals (probably an elephant since they seem to be his favorites and are always within reach) and started describing/questioning him about it. it went something like this:

k - ready? it's gray, has big feet, has a long trunk and makes this sound (insert sound effect here)
l - an elephant!
k - good job buddy! let's try another.....

And so the game continued, through another elephant, a crocodile, a horse, giraffe and several other animals. After I felt like he was getting the hang of it I handed the box of animals over to him and asked him to make me guess an animal. His version of the game went something like this:

l - Ready? It's gray, it's an elephant, it has a long trunk, what do you think it is?
k - (laughing hysterically) an elephant?
l - yep. good job daddy

and he repeated his same technique in describing all the same animals i had quizzed him on just a few minutes prior, with literally the same descriptions. gotta love him! it has made trisha and i laugh out loud more than a few times over the last 36 hours.

now that you're up to speed w/ our little game, here's a few descriptions of logan's animals....let's see how you do!

it's black, it's a ladybug and it has red spots. what is it?
it's brown, lives on a farm, it's a horse and it eats hay. what is it?
it's white, it's a polar bear, it's really big and has big feet and teeth. what is it?
it's tall, has a long neck, it's a giraffe and has spots. what is it?

is it just me or is he really good at describing his animals?
