Happiest place on earth
I told my sis-in-law once that I was off to the "happiest place on earth" and she thought I was going to the temple, so just to clarify Logan and I went to Disneyland this morning. We got ready as soon as we woke up and headed out there. I was pretty proud of myself because I planned it so that he would take his first nap during the car ride and it worked.
But we got to the park and it was "magic morning" so only hotel guests were allowed in. So instead of getting inside nice and early as planned I ended up chasing Logan around for about a hour.
First ride, Peter Pan. It was a 30 minute wait and I was sweating like a pig trying to entertain Logan in line. But I got this picture of him during the ride and it made it all worth it. He looks a little terrified which I'm sure I shouldn't find amusing, still I love the look on his face.
Next up Casey Jrs. train ride. I think he liked it but you can't really tell by his facial expressions.
Then we rode the horses, again he doesn't look thrilled, but I think he's just too busy observing everything to smile.
Finally a smile! We stopped in the shade to eat lunch.
Next, Roger Rabbits ride (I don't even know the real name). There is no lap sitting on the ride and I was afraid Logan was going to slide out the side or have a brain hemmorhage so this is the best picture I could get of him.
And as planned He fell asleep as soon as I took him off the Roger Rabbit ride. He laid his head on my shoulder and fell right asleep (which I love because he isn't very cuddly anymore). He also transferred right to his crib even with me taking his clothes off.

Concert night
Kyle is a huge Counting Crows fan (I've become one through marriage), so last night we left Logan with my parents and headed out to see these guys and loved every minute of it. It was our first time out without Logan since he was 2 months old! Sorry I didn't bring my camera...after dragging my diaper bag with me everywhere I just decided not to bring a thing with me to the concert.
We also were able to see this band again, who seems to open for the Crows a lot. Its Augustana if you can't tell by the picture.
Maroon 5 closed! Kyle and I both really like there music, and I'll admit Adam is quite the looker, but I felt like I was at a teen concert. There were crazy girls (many sitting with there parents) squealing and screaming and I was just waiting for Adam to bust out some Justin Timberlake dance moves. Thankfully he didn't but it was a little too pop for me!

Lucky Logan
Yesterday Logan had his 12 month checkup. This kid of mine doesn't want to gain weight! I think he only gained 13 oz over 2 months putting him in the 25% for weight. He did gain a few inches in height and is in the 90%. The doctor doesn't seem concerned with his weight probably because she has seen both me and my husband and knows it won't be a problem in the future.
In fact I let Dr. Chang know that I was going to be bringing her more business in February and after her congratulating me and asking me if I was feeling ok, she continued to say, "I guess you will just go from one baby bump to another." Thanks doc!
The lucky part for Logan is that while we were waiting to get his immunizations the nurse came in to let me know that they were out of the kind he needed so we left shot free!

A little party for a little boy
I wanted to throw a huge birthday bash and Kyle didn't want to have a party at all (says Logan won't remember it anyways) so we agreed upon a little birthday party for my little man!
I saw an idea for a "ball" themed party through a blog and did it on a small scale.
So I made a little ball invitation
Had cupcakes with gumballs on top
(I had lots of balls on top of the food table but no pictures taken)
We had a little bit of family at the party; two of my bros, one who is always studying even at a party.
One more little project that I finished inspired by Natalie and Megan. I got these cigar boxes from Natalie (who doesn't smoke cigars, she just gets them from her husband's boss) and just painted on of them, used a little bit of scrapbook paper and mod pod, bought a wooden frame and did the same, and put a picture of Logan at birth inside. So every year I will put a picture of Logan from his birthday along with a letter from me and Kyle. I think it will be fun for him to look at the pictures and read the letters someday, and would you believe Kyle didn't complain about having to write a letter or call the idea cheesy!!!!

I made a banner out of felt and ric rac, super cheap and reusable....not a great picture because it was a little windy.

Bird Mobile
In Idaho my sis in law and I wanted to do a little sewing and decided to make this bird mobile. I stole the idea from Megan's fun finds club. The free bird pattern was easy to make, but it was really hard to attach the eye screws and balance out the branches. Kyle said he would fix it for me, but I figured I would just post it as is in case anyone needs a little craft to do!

These past two weeks.....
We.....
played with cousins
swam in the pool
hung out with family
took a motorcycle ride (no helmet rule in ID.....wasn't I a neurosurg nurse?)
took Logan to see the bears
and the wolves
forced the in-laws to take an obnoxious picture in front of a huge teddy bear
drank from a spring
I told Kyle that I didn't want Logan drinking from a rock with algae all over it!
Me not drinking from the spring
canoed (which is harder....rowing a canoe or trying to entertain a 1 year old so that the canoe doesn't tip over, for two hours?)
did lots of 4-wheeling with Logan who learned to turn on his ride
Oh I also gave in and read twilight because my mother in law had it. Not that impressed, but my sister in law loaned my the next two so I will continue on hoping that it gets better!

1 year
One year ago today I was lying in a hospital bed (picture is far enough away that you can't see all my chins)
who has quickly become a one year old.
I miss my newborn but I love this little kid!
And I gave birth to this perfect little buddha baby
