St. George trip

Over the weekend we took a quick trip to St. George for Kyle's cousin's wedding. Although it was such a short trip it was nice to see my in-laws and thanks to Kyle's mom Logan now has a Halloween costume (I thought about not dressing him up this year, bad mom...I know!).
Logan did pretty well driving to St. George especially since we only stopped once for lunch. Just a box of Raisins, pacifiers, and driving during his nap time made for a fairly pleasant baby (although he does look a little grumpy in the picture).
We did alot of swimming in our free time
and night swimming....pure joy for Logan.
Of course we went to the St. George temple for the sealing.
My sister in law Ashley, Logan and myself.
Our little family of 3 plus an ever growing bump.
My life for the past few months has been trying to get Logan to understand that he can't run in the middle of the street. No success yet....we're still working on it! Logan thought it was so strong carrying around this cone that was nearly taller than him. He blocked all the people trying to get out of the hotel. It entertained him though for nearly half an hour.
That's it! A short and sweet trip!

I was tagged by Ashley and since I've never done one before I thought I would start with this one.

Here are the rules:

Link the person who tagged you
Mention rules on your blog
Tell about 6 quirks of yours
Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same

1. I always take two showers. In the morning I can't (I could, but won't) put my contacts in until after I've showered. At night I have to shower, so I am fresh in my clean bed.

2. I change my clothes into comfy clothes within a minute of getting home. Kyle was weirded out when we first got married because I would start undressing the second I walked in so I could put pj type pants and a loose shirt on. I also can't wear a bra when I'm at home, how can you relax in a bra.

3. I love bread almost more than sweets. I love eating the crust off first and then I squeeze the rest into a ball and eat it that way.

4. When I used to work I loved code blues. It may be a little morbid but there was nothing more fun than trying to save a person's life, I guess that's why people work in the ICU or ER. A few months ago, Kyle and I saw a teenage boy get hit by a car and start seizing in the street. I didn't love it then, it actually made me feel sick, so it must just be at the hospital hooked up to machines that I love it.

5. I have to sleep with blankets on me regardless of the weather. Even in this hot weather that we are still having, I have to have a sheet and blanket on me at all times. It's been that way since I was a kid.

6. I can't stand feet. Won't touch then, hate when they touch me, don't even like to look at them. They are the one thing that used to make me want to hurl when I worked. No problem with feces, urine, vomit, or sputum....but feet disgusting!

next up: Julia, Ashley H., Megan, Autumn, Heidi, Jenn.

Not an ordinary GNO

We "Love to see the temple," so last night we did a late night session in Newport (8pm). It was perfect! We didn't get a picture outside of the temple, because we were starving since none of us had eaten dinner. But we did find one of the only open restaurants and chowed down.

Thanks for a spiritual/fun night girls...we should make it a monthly thing!

A little sad

Unfortunately, Logan cost us a small fortune to have even with insurance, so we have decided (mid pregnancy) to switch to Kaiser. I've never had an HMO before so I don't know what to expect, but I'm not a Kaiser hater....especially since my older bro just happens to be a physician for Kaiser. I'm just sad to leave my OB, Hoag, and especially my pediatrician. I get a little teary eyed when I think about finding a new ped. for both Logan and the new baby. My top concern right now is finding the best doc to perform the new baby's circ. I'm also worried about how fast anesthesia will respond when it is time for my epidural....it better be STAT!

Fortunately, I let my bro know about the insurance switch so he said he will help find me some good doctors. He may just have to take the day off when I have the baby just in case I need to have a personal doctor, not that I would EVER let him be in the delivery room!

Diaper bag

I have zero desire to sew these days, probably because the only time to sew is after Logan is asleep at night, at which time I just want to sit on the couch and watch TV. However, I have a long list of projects for both Logan and the new baby that I want to complete so........let the sewing begin!

My new diaper bag....

love the fabric (although the picture doesn't really do it justice)
love amy butler patterns because they are so easy to sew
love that this diaper bag is huge
LOVE that it is done!

Sunday

I LOVE babies and I love baby blessings! Today I got to go to Shea's blessing. Kyle was kind enough to stay home with Logan so he could take a nap. So, I experienced my first sacrament meeting without chasing Logan around or trying to keep him quiet. All of us girls are either pregnant (actually only I am....unless Amy is keeping a secret:) or nursing so we chowed down on the all the good food. And because we are pregnant and nursing we didn't feel bad about eating cupcakes, cream puffs, and snickerdoodles all at once!

Great Sunday!! Unfortunately, Logan has been having a rough week when it comes to sleep so I came home to a cranky baby. He's sound asleep now, hopefully for the night, and now all I want to do is wake up this little guy!

Tumbling

These two started gymnastics today!Logan had to stretch out his little baby muscles before the tumbling beganNot so steady on the balance beam....good thing it is a female event only. This girl has it down! They learned to do a cartwheel, somersault, and do a flip on a bar (or at least the parents did)
I think I got a mini workout too!

Pumpkin patch

How cute is this cowboy?I had to stick him in between the pumpkins so that he wouldn't run offThat's right the pumpkin was $75. Who spends that much on pumpkins?
2 1/2 feet and growing
My adorable cat
In a hay maze
4 friends!
Train ride
I think it is cute how the two kiddos were both pointing to the peacock in this picture
At the zoo looking at some animals
Megan's favorite animal......this huge teddy bear

Thanks girls for bringing your kids out for a playdate in the heat!

New baby boy and Logan

Logan slept in a borrowed Moses basket for the first few months of his life. So I decided to make my first purchase for the "new baby" and found one at Ross. Poor gato hasn't gotten used to Logan yet, little does she know that there is a new baby on the way. We have hardwood floors all throughout the house and I was feeling bad that Logan doesn't have a place to rest. So I decided to get him a bean bag. Then a free pattern popped up on my reader from Michael Miller fabrics so I decided to make him one.

He loves it!

Killing time while Kyle is away

Kyle is pushing his luck...Tuesday he played basketball, Wednesday he went to the Angels vs. Red Sox game, Thursday he played basketball AND softball, today he played golf!!!! Is he kidding me?! I think I need to flip my switch/put my foot down/hide all his sports equipment. Those of you who don't have husbands that are fans of sports, thank your lucky stars!

So to entertain me and Logan on a Friday night while my husband was golfing we cooked up some homemade individual pizzas (and because I'm such a sweet wife:) I made one for Kyle). Then Logan and I were both so jealous of Olive's yummy looking peanut butter cookies that we had to make a batch for ourselves.

Logan's first full cookie.....he wasn't quite sure what to do with it. but he gobbled it right up M&Ms and all!

Happy October!

While I was getting my Halloween decorations out of the garage I found Logan's costume from last year.

Not a happy turtle
until he got the hat off, and then he went about his normal business around the house.
Any good ideas for a costume this year?
